For the first time setup with Self-Calibration, you will need to follow these setup preferences:
Speed or Accuracy = Accuracy
Weigh Bar/Load Cell Configuration = Select the relevant load bar left/right or both
Species Being Weighed = Sheep or Cattle
Weigh Bar Type = Self-Calibration
How to Self-Calibrate the Weight:
Step 1. Connect your eWeigh on the Equipment page as usual and tap 'Go Weigh'
Step 2. Select the preferences as recommended above, Accuracy, load bar configuration, species and Self Calibration under 'Which Bar Type' and then tap 'Go Weigh' again
Next, place a fixed weight onto the weighing platform. We recommend using a 50kg and a minimum of 25kg calibrated weight; however, any static item with a known weight, e.g. bag of feed or minerals, can be used
Step 3. Once the weight is in and is stable, the iLivestock application will ask you for the 'Correct Weight'
Once you enter the new weight, press 'OK'
The eWeigh will then calculate the weight again, and the known weight should display as you have entered it - in this case, 50kg.
IMPORTANT:
Make sure your load cells are correctly plugged into the eWeigh.
The stable weight displayed before you are prompted to enter the correct weight will look strange/out
Check that you and no one else is in contact with the crush/weighing area. No leaning or touching, or tying to any gates or posts as this will seriously affect your calibration.
Anything that will shift the centre of gravity of the crush also has an impact on the self-calibrated reading (e.g swing door). Make sure once the weight is in the crush and that all doors are closed and the feet of the bars are on even, clear ground
