If you are keen to get weighing but don't yet have your cattle in the app, you can weigh and scan using EID to weigh your animals and then scan them into the app - recording their EID and weight at the same time.

Note: This may not be suitable for you if you want to update individual records with lots of different DOBs, breeds and visual IDs.

How to weigh and scan your animals into the app:

Step 1. Connect your compatible EID reader and eWeigh and then tap 'Go Weigh'

Step 2. On the eWeigh Setup screen, select the type of weighing, how many bars you have connected and the species (sheep or cattle). Next, select the weigh bar types you have connected by scrolling and tapping the relevant weigh bars in the list.

Note: If your weigh bars are not listed, choose Self Calibration at the bottom of the list. See the Self Calibration guide for more info.

Next, tap the red 'Go Weigh' button at the bottom of the screen

Step 3. You will now be taken to the weigh screen and are ready for weighing.

Note: At this stage, you can tap the Auto Record button, this will allow you to weigh and scan without manually pressing the record button after each weight has stabilised and will speed up the process.

Step 4. As the animal moves onto the bars the screen weight will begin to climb

Step 5. The weight while stabilising will change colour multiple times

Step 6. Once the weight has stabilised, it will turn dark green, and the Kg symbol will appear next to the weight. You will also hear a bell 'ding'.

Step 7. Once the weight has stabilised, you can scan the EID tag of the animal and it will then populate the screen.

If you are happy with the weight tap the Record button. If you are not happy you can tap 'Reweigh'

Note: If you selected Auto Record at the beginning of the session, once you scan the EID tag, the weight will automatically record against the animal and the weight display will zero, ready for the next animal.

Step 8. Once you have weighed and scanned all the animals required, tap the 'Finish" option in the top left-hand of the screen

Step 9. A confirmation screen will appear for you to confirm you have finished weighing. Tap Finished Weighing to finish and save the weigh session. Tap Continue Weighing to carry on with the session.

Step 10. On the lower navigation menu, select Animals and on the upper navigation menu select Cattle to see your newly added weighed and scanned animals.
