How to add your animals
How to add your animals

Overview of the different ways you can add your Sheep and or Cattle to your app.

Just started with iLivestock and need all your animals added quickly? Or have a couple new animals you need to add? Here is all the different ways to add animals to your iLivestock app.


Adding animals individually:

  1. Open the 'Animals page' of iLivestock on the bottom selection bar.

  2. Press the circle 'Action button', aka 'Cow Head' in the bottom right corner.

  3. Press 'Add Animal'.

  4. Then select your species, the 'Add Animal screen' will appear.

  5. The, press 'Save Animal'.

  6. Select the holding the animal is located from the list shown.

Group import from your Stick Reader to app:

  1. Have your stick reader connected. Navigate to 'Equipment' on the bottom bar.

  2. Under the connected stick reader tap 'Get Groups', will take a couple seconds for the groups to appear (if it doesn't seem to work, turn the stick reader off then on and try again).

  3. Select the group you wish to import, then when the tick shows on that group, click 'import' on the top right.

  4. Select the species for the group of ID numbers (Sheep or Cattle).

  5. Select an existing group you want to add these animals to, or create a new group to add them to.

  6. If importing them to a new group, type in the name for your new imported group and save - Success!

  7. Your group will show in the appropriate species quick filter (Sheep or Cattle) on Groups

CSV import:

  1. Go to our website, and click 'My Account' in the top right corner, then proceed to log in.

  2. Once logged in, on the left hand side click 'Data' then, 'Import'.

  3. You can then download our import files from here.

  4. Follow the instructions on the spreadsheet on how to fill in your data.

  5. When saving the file select 'CSV' under the file format option.

  • Email your files back to an email account you have on your iPhone or iPad (if you are an Android user, email your import file to us to import for you - [email protected]).

  • Open the iLivestock app and make sure it is on the animals screen.

  • Then, open up your email and the file you would like to import.

  • Press the 'Share' button (blue square with an arrow up).

  • Scroll to the more option and press iLivestock.

  • Your file will start to import please stay on the app until it's completed.
