Please find steps to connect your Agrident or Allflex stick reader to the app with different steps for iOS and Android laid out below.

Note!: If using Android you can connect in 2 different Bluetooth modes, depending on which works best once you've connected

iOS Devices (iPhone / iPad)

First, please go through the setup settings below, before you pair the stick reader with the app on your device.

Step 1. Press the green button to turn on

Step 2: Turn the stick to Slave Mode by navigating through the following settings:

Menu, then Setup, then Interface set up, select Bluetooth and then Bluetooth mode and then select 'Slave Mode'

Step 3: Next we need to set the Bluetooth type by navigating through the following settings:

Menu, then Setup, then Interface set up, select Bluetooth and then Set BT Profile, next set to BLE.

Step 4: To set your automatic switch off time, so the reader doesn't switch off during a session, please navigate through the following settings:

Menu, then Set Up, then Display, then select Set switch off time - we recommend you set this to 60 minutes and then finally click the green button to confirm.

Steps to pair to the app

Step 1: Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device

Step 2: Open the app, navigate to 'Equipment Menu' on the bottom navigation menu.

Step 3: Click 'Add Device' under 'My EID Readers'.

Step 4: Find your stick reader on the list and tap 'Pair'.

Step 5: The stick should then make a noise and display 'iLivestock Connected'.

Step 6: The device name will appear, confirming its connection, and the bar at the top of the app will turn blue (or green, if you have an eWeigh connected too!).

Note!: The stick reader will now always appear in you equipment menu.

Trouble shooting

  • Click BLE to connect stick, if it connects and does not show ‘Connected to iLivestock' on the screen, it is not fully connected. Force close app, open again and should connect.

  • If your device is struggling to find your stick reader, check the stick has not connected to a different device near by.

Stick reader tech tips:

If you have problems importing groups for the first time, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Connect the stick reader with iLivestock

Step 2: Force close the iLivestock app, then open again and login, leaving it for about 1 min.

(Force close on most devices can be achieved by gently pushing the screen upwards, until it become a small page in the middle of the screen and then flick it upwards - this will log you out of the app).

Step 3: Switch off the stick reader and switch it back on again

Step 4: Re-perform the Group Import

iLivestock has 3 colours to tell you what hardware is connected to your app:

  • Pink - eWeigh only

  • Blue - Stick reader only

  • Green - eWeigh & Stick reader

Note!: We do not support the 'Continuous Read' function from the stick reader and the iLivestock 'Auto Record' mode together.
