iOS devices (iPhone/iPad):

You'll need to make sure your stick reader has the right settings to use it with iLivestock.

  1. Green button to turn on. Navigate through 'Menu', 'Setup', 'Interface set up', 'Bluetooth', 'Bluetooth mode', select 'Slave Mode'.

  2. Then, 'Menu', 'Setup', 'Interface set up', 'Bluetooth', 'Set BT Profile', set to 'BLE'.

  3. And for setting switch off time go to 'Menu', 'Set Up', 'Display', 'Set switch off time' (we recommend you set this to 60 minutes), click the green button to confirm.

Steps to pair:

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device

  2. Open the app, navigate to 'Equipment Menu' on the bottom bar.

  3. Click 'Add Device' under 'My EID Readers'.

  4. Find your stick reader on the list and tap 'Pair'.

  5. The stick should then make a noise and display 'iLivestock Connected'.

  6. The device name will appear, confirming its connection, and the bar at the top of the app will turn blue (or green, if you have an eWeigh connected too!).

The stick reader will now always appear in you equipment menu.

Trouble shooting

  • Click BLE to connect stick, if it connects and does not show ‘Connected to iLivestock on the screen’ it is not fully connected. Force close app, open again and should connect.

  • If your device is struggling to find your stick reader, check your device's Bluetooth permissions!

Android devices:

  2. Then, 'Menu', 'Setup', 'Interface set up', 'Bluetooth', 'Set BT Profile', set to 'SPP'.

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device settings

  2. On reader - Menu > Setup > Interface Setup > Bluetooth > Start BT Inquiry > Select mobile device when found

  3. On phone - Open Bluetooth settings page, go to 'Pair new device' in Bluetooth device settings

  4. Select Reader when found and enter code to pair

  5. Open iLivestock and the status bar at the top of the app will turn blue when the EID Reader is connected (or green, if you have an eWeigh connected too!).

Stick reader Tech Tips:

If you have problems importing groups for the first time, please follow these steps:

  1. Connect the stick reader with iLivestock

  2. Force close the iLivestock and restart it, leaving it for about 1 min

  3. Switch off the stick reader and switch it back on again

  4. Re-perform the Group Import

iLivestock has 3 colours to tell you what accessories are connected to your app:

  • Pink - eWeigh only

  • Blue - Stick reader only

  • Green - eWeigh & Stick reader

Note: We do not support the 'Continuous Read' function from the stick reader and the iLivestock 'Auto Record' mode together.
